I just downloaded the wordpress app for my iPhone. Just giving it a test run to see how it works. Gotta love the iPhone!

Ok by now everybody knows that Holmgren is keeping the coaching staff in place. I am ok with this for many reasons.
1) they did win 4 in a row, maybe Mangini deserves a chance
2) rob ryan will still be here, I like him and think the success had more to do with him than with Mangini or Daboll
3) who was out there as a head coach candidate that would be better?
4) give him a year, if it works great, if it doesn’t then you go after a big name coach ( Cowher)
bottom line is this team was 5-11 so what would we expect change a coach and become great, or let a staff try and improve on what it looks like they started

Mr. Lerner,
We have never had the pleasure of meeting, sir, and I would imagine that it’s a good thing for both of us. See, if we were to meet, I would have a hard time containing the contempt I hold for you. You see, I’ve been a Cleveland Browns fan as long as I can remember of my soon to be 37 years on this Earth. I wasn’t lucky enough to be born into a billionaire family. I would love the opportunity to own this NFL franchise. But this team that “plays” for our entertainment every Sunday isn’t even close to NFL-caliber. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your family has had 11 years to rebuild this organization, and quite frankly this should go down as one of the most epic failures of all time. Just how long does it take before we’re rebuilt??? Pretend for one minute that our beloved Browns were your precious Aston Villa soccer team. Would you stand for Aston Villa being this poor of a team?
You need to do one of two things: 1.) Sell the team to someone or some group who truly cares about our city, our team and their history together. (Do you even know this team’s history?) 2.) Hire a person to be directly under you that is not only a football-minded person, but will be in charge of putting the right personnel in place from the next person below them all the way down to the waterboys in order to turn this organization around and keep it headed in the right direction. Whatever it takes! That should be your mantra, Mr. Lerner. God knows you can afford it!
You can’t possibly expect even the loyal die-hard fans of the Cleveland Browns to stand for this much longer. To quote a popular song, “How many times can I break ’til I shatter?” Indeed how many times, Mr. Lerner?
Hey everyone, sorry we’ve been quiet. Seems as though life is really getting in the way lately. Just wanted to update the countdown, and ask to see who’s planning on going to Training Camp? Jay and I are talking about going with our sons. I am going for sure with my son, Seth. So how about you? Are you planning on going? Let us know in the comments.

I have heard of Braylon to the jets for Thomas Jones. But i have a better idea. If the Vikings sign Brett Favre they will need a true #1 wide receiver. I think they would give up next years first round pick for him too because they will be expecting it to be a LATE one.

Ok I have been saying trade for Jake Peavy. I still say it. I think we can get Peavy for basically players who are on the columbus to cleveland shuttle. Of course, we will need to address the bullpen. Of course we need to have somebody who can pitch the 7th and 8th innings. I don’t care if that guy is pitching in AA or Mahoning Valley, call him up. I don’t care if you have to trade Johhny Peralta, Ryan Garko, Kelly Shoppach, or an outfielder not named Grady, do it. If the Indians make moves now, try and fix things, and it doesn’t work, think of the postion they would be in at the trade deadline in july. Cliff Lee and Jake Peavy plus other position players….the tribe would be in great position to get back prospects

I am saying it again, time for the Indians to make some moves. Trades specifically. They have depth in the minors and the majors. Come on Sizemore, Choo, Francisco, Crowe, Delluci, Laporta, Garko…all playing outfield. Derosa, Peralta, Graffanino, Valbueno, Cabrera…all playing 3rd, short, and 2nd. We still have a glut of starting pitchers in the top 3 levels. MAKE SOME MOVES!!!!! I think the guys need to have more consistent playing time to get into an offensive rhythmn. In his last 3 starts Cliff Lee has pitched great but lost twice because of no run support. Further proof that he is not a number one starter. If we traded for Jake Peavy, put him in at number one and moved Lee to the two spot, he would be able to dominate, like he did last year. Going up against a pitcher other than a teams ace(last two starts against Verlander and Beckett) he would get more run support. Cliff Lee is a fighter and I hope he stays with the Indians, but he is not a number one. We have the ammo, lets fix this team in May rather than waiting till later. We are not even 5 games back right now. FIX NOW!!! of course we need to add someone to the bullpen too.

I would like to give them a higher grade but let me explain a couple reasons why I can’t. I have two feelings I can’t shake. Granted I wasn’t in the war room, so I don’t know if there is any validity to what I think. First feeling, we drafted guys a couple picks too early. Alex Mack is going to be a great fit, and I am very happy with him. But could we have drafted him at 25 or 28? I don’t know, but it feels like we could have. Could we have traded back again and added another pick. Why not? That gets me to feeling number two. I know there is a famous chart for value of picks but I do not have it commited to memory. So when we let two teams move up in the first round for only a 6th round pick it felt too cheap. Getting the extra picks is a great idea, but only a 6th? Look at the jets. When they moved up in the 3rd round with detroit..(from mid 3rd to first pick in the round) they gave up a 4th and a 7th.
Overall I like what the Browns did.
Alex Mack will be a starter. Whether it is this year or not doesn’t matter. He is good. (A-)Brian Robiskie will be a starter this year. He is good. (B-)
Massaquoi maybe. He has talent, we will see what comes of him. However LeSean McCoy and Shonn Green were both still on the board. And since we drafted a back later obviously it was a posittion the Browns were looking at(D)
The other defensive guys I will give Mangini the benefit of the doubt. He is the expert. If he likes the guys I will defer to his opinion.
However James Davis, our last pick in the 6th round, I will go out on a limb and say I really like. He comes from a big time program and played against big time defenses for 4 years. Will he be the second coming of Adrian Peterson, probably not. Will he be a solid NFL back who has a long solid career? I think so.
Adding the players from the Jets has to be considered into the grade. I think Kenyon Coleman will be a starter and Abram Elam will at the very least get alot of playing time. So getting 3 starters out of the draft has to be considered a success.

that’s what it amounts to. The Browns will have too many choices. Here is one possible way the picks can go
1.lions-stafford
2.rams-J. smith OT
3.chiefs-T. Jackson DE
4.seahawks-Curry-LB
5.Browns-Crabtree or trade the pick to someone who wants sanchez
*******
I kind of hope the Browns aren’t in a position where they can draft aaron curry. Yes he is the highest rated player, but they added LB in free agency. Drafting curry or raji doesn’t seem like it addresses a need as much as it is strengthens a weakness.

I would love to pick up a first round pick next year in a trade. with two first round picks next year the Browns would be able to trade up to whatever spot it takes to draft Taylor Mays, safety from USC
